Agricultural landscape, Santa Cruz (Bolivia)

TypePoster

Duration: June 1975 - May 2003

Following the construction of roads and bridges linking the region of Santa Cruz to other population centres, large numbers of migrants arrived. The subsequent agricultural development has caused massive deforestation in the region. By 2003, the forest area had almost entirely disappeared and had been replaced by thousands of cultivated plots.
