Réagir: desertification - DEAD SEA
|
Type: Poster
Duration: May 1973 - May 2002
Since 1960, the Dead See level decreases at a rate of 1 m per
year. This follows the diversion of 90% of the Jordan River and
salt exploitation in the south. The demand in the region exceeds
the renewable amount of water available leading to over-pumping
the underground aquifers. The water shortage will increase
in the future.
