Project description

Duration: January 2007 - December 2013

The Swiss Catalogue of environmental metadata (ENVIROCAT) is a database providing reference information or meta-data on Swiss environmental organizations and data sets. Originally based on a tool developed by the European Environment Agency (EEA), a completely new development was done in 2003. ENVIROCAT is developed by the Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape (BUWAL) with support from GRID-Geneva and University of Geneva, in close collaboration with the SIENG. A FOEN server is hosted and maintained at GRID-Geneva, this server includes ENVIROCAT but also CH-CHM (Swiss Biodiversity Clearing-house Mechanism) and CH-BCH (Swiss Biosafety Clearinghouse).
